Planning & Sustainability Project Updates

Updates on Current Projects at the Bureau of Planning & Sustainability Recommended City-wide Zoning Map and other Comprehensive Plan Early Implementation projects: The City of Portland is updating its Comprehensive Plan, a long-range 20-year plan that sets the framework for the physical development of the city. In August the Planning and Sustainability Commission made recommendations to City Council on the Comprehensive Plan Early Implementation Projects, including the Composite Zoning Map. Central City Multimodal Responses

Thanks for your interest in the Central City Multimodal Project, PBOT’s effort to make getting around Portland’s Central City safer and easier by prioritizing and building active transportation projects. The Central City is home to the densest population of people and jobs in the state – and it is growing. This fall, PBOT wrapped up an online survey in English and Spanish to collect early input on the project. The survey asked how people get around the Central City, why they travel here and what sorts of barriers they face. 3,472 people responded. Vision Zero Final Plan

After receiving feedback from District Coalition meetings and community input the Vision Zero Task Force helped to shape the Portland Vision Zero final draft Action Plan, which includes 32 actions. Vision Zero is Portland’s goal to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2025. The final draft of the plan is available at www.VisionZeroPortland.com.  Next Wednesday, October 12, 3:00 pm time certain, the final draft Vision Zero Action Plan will be in front of City Council.
