This workshop will help NA board members develop their outreach efforts by learning how to do an asset mapping of who is in your area and how to engage with various community organizations in your neighborhoods; including culturally-specific organizations.

Fiscal Record keeping as a nonprofit, tax preparation readiness, and completing the CT12, are all subjects that will be covered by Paul Brown, CPA.  This class, which is essential to all of the District 4 affiliated organizations, will take place on May 14 at 6:00 PM.  This is exclusively a ZOOM meeting.  Please register in advance.

This training will be custom-tailored to Neighborhood Associations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. It will cover state and federal legal compliance requirements and potential pitfalls that nonprofits commonly face, including Board member duties and responsibilities, liability, handling Conflicts of Interest and IRS Guidelines, record-keeping requirements for tax-exempt donations, unrelated business income, financial controls, improper private benefit, and more.

We will discuss ways to implement the toolkit in your Neighborhood Association. We will also brainstorm additional social equity topics you’d like to add to the toolkit.
