Big changes are proposed for Neighborhood Engagement in our planning and housing regulatory systems. It appears that responsibilities given to neighborhood associations to do design review are being limited and/or removed. The City is reviewing the following proposal this Wednesday and taking testimony at this time. I strongly suggest your land use teams get engaged in these serious code changes. I believe code changes are being put in place to reduce the amount of time taken to get permits, the last information I saw was an average of 400 days to get a permit. This is a time for the Land use and transportation teams be aware of the new “Housing Regulatory Relief Project” (see below).
