Our next Crime Prevention Meeting will be Friday, October 6 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
We will be meeting at the NWNW HQ at 6th and NW Glisan.
The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) Office of Community Engagement is working with neighborhood groups to develop new strategies for improving public safety and police-community relations. PPB seeks to provide residents with a greater voice in where police work in their neighborhood, what problems they address, and how they intervene. They also provide residents, businesses, and community organizations with data they can use to leverage additional resources for improving public safety in their neighborhood.
Natasha Haunsperger has been a Portland, Oregon, police officer for 17 years and is currently assigned to the Office of Community Engagement, Chief’s Office. She is developing community engagement holistic strategies to respond to and serve communities. She will be joining us to give an overview of PPB’s community engagement program and how best we can interact with this critical component of PPB. We will have a Q&A session following.
