“Take Up the Space” walks

Where:  Meet at the Eliot Tower Condos at 1221 SW 10th Ave. (behind the Art Museum)

When:  Every Thursday evening at 6pm

Walking time:  Varies, but possibly up to 35 mins at a comfortable stroll

Slip on your favorite walking shoes and join this weekly group of neighbors who explore the Downtown Neighborhood, visiting different areas to see what’s new – the good and the bad!  When we see good things like new businesses opening, we cheer them on.  When we see bad things, I report them to agencies who are assigned to fix them (think graffiti, trash, broken windows, etc.).

The idea behind the “Take Up the Space” walks is this:  if we let ourselves be fearful of walking into parts of our neighborhood for any reason, we will soon give other those streets to our fears.

Everyone is invited!  Bring a friend, bring a dog, bring a smile!  If nothing else, this is your opportunity to get a bit of exercise and meet new neighbors.

If Thursday isn’t good for you and you want to organize your own neighborhood walk, contact Margo Howell for help.

Best Regards,
